Shoulder Bag

Fairly Traded
These shoulder bags are made in Kenya by the Shanzu Transitional Workshop (see below for more information) and are fairly-traded. They're bright, colourful, well made and practical, and are designed to limit the stress on your shoulder. When opened out, they measure approximately 14 inches wide from seam to seam, and 19 inches from strap to bottom.

The opening is in the back to help keep the contents safe, which closes with a zipper. There's another small zipped compartment in the strap for small items.

About Shanzu

Shanzu is a workshop for young women with disabilities. They learn skills which enable them to become productive and confident members of the community and society. Many of them come from a background which is overshadowed by parents and society who treat them either with shame or pity, and they are not allowed to participate in the day-to-day life of the family and community.

The girls are paid a share of the profits when their work is sold to tourists and passers-by, and internationally through fair trade organisations. Shanzu products carry the distinctive Shanzu patch - proudly sewn where everyone can see.
